Using a specially-constructed interface, the health expert may answer questions posed by concerned patients. The health expert never sees any personal information about the patient, except the question and some pertinent health data (gender, age).

A fancy system of unconnected databases and temporary storage methods ensure complete anonymity for the user - to the most stringent legal standards. When the question is answered, the user is sent a link to the expert's answer via e-mail.

Ask-a-nurse also features an optional search through previous questions, which lets patients check if their question has already been answered.
